Katherine Erickson is the owner of Mature Market Solutions, LLC a consulting firm specializing in all aspects of sales, marketing and product positioning for the mature market. Mature Market Solutions, LLC works with companies and organizations currently serving or interested in serving the mature market to improve current product performance and/or provide direction for new product/market development. Our goal is to establish a partnership of trust and integrity working to cultivate and drive our client’s companies/organizations to optimal performance.

Mature Market Solutions specializes in turnaround of non/underperforming products, start-up/lease-up, merger transition, acquisition due diligence/integration, product brand development and positioning, sales & marketing training, marketing and sales audits, product pricing programs, marketing & sales systems design, infrastructure development and web site design and optimization.

Katherine Erickson has worked in the mature market since 1983. She has held key leadership positions with senior living industry leaders including Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing. She has held positions in start up companies as well as rapid growth companies including those experiencing mergers, acquisitions and reorganization. Her experience includes working with for profit companies, non profit entities, in government and on grants projects.

In 2005 Ms. Erickson formed Mature Market Solutions, LLC. Prior to forming her consulting firm, she served as Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Brookdale Living Communities (renamed Brookdale Senior Living). During her seven year tenure with Brookdale Ms. Erickson was responsible for overseeing all aspects of sales and marketing for the company including: product positioning and pricing; portfolio performance; hiring and developing the marketing management team; developing sales & marketing training programs; developing and implementing lead generation programs; new market feasibility and acquisition due diligence; web site development and optimization; crisis communications; database management; brand management and in house agency.

In 1995 Ms. Erickson joined Alternative Living Services/ALS (renamed Alterra Healthcare Corporation; merged with Brookdale Senior Living in 2005) as their Corporate Director of Marketing; and was later promoted to Vice President of Marketing. While employed with ALS, the company experienced major growth through new development, acquisition and three major mergers.

Prior to ALS, Ms. Erickson was with The Prime Group, Inc., Senior Housing Division for six years; most recently as their Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing. Before working in the senior living industry, Ms. Erickson’s held various positions working in the mature market including: a grant project managed by Harvard University; chairing the Governor’s Senior Housing Task force for the State of Illinois; the Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA), and overseeing the start up of a hospital based adult day care program.

Ms. Erickson has a Masters Degree in Gerontology with a specialization in consumer products for older adults from Eastern Illinois University. Her undergraduate degree, also earned at Eastern Illinois University, is a Bachelor of Science Degree in Merchandising.
